Collaborative Editing Details - $300
Collaborative editing focuses on critiquing top-level issues: pacing, style, continuity, and tone in all works; plot, characterization, and dialogue in fiction works; and thesis, clarity of message, repetition, and reference use in nonfiction works. Editors will also make some technical corrections, such as smoothing out grammatical issues, and they will flag the writing “crutches” you should avoid to improve your craft long term. The edited manuscript will be returned to you with a memo from the editor outlining the strengths and weaknesses of the work and pointing out specific issues (such as repetitive word use) that may require your attention as you make revisions. In addition, you will receive a scheduling form for a one-hour consulting session to discuss the work with your editor and ask any questions you may have about the feedback or corrections.
THE COLLABORATIVE EDITING PROCESS
- After clicking on the "Buy Now" button above to place your order, you will need to email your project, attaching your manuscript in Microsoft Word format to info@breakingrulespublishing.com.
- Breaking Rules Publishing will assign your project to the most qualified editor for your book. Within two business days, a professional editor will have your manuscript and all the information you provided when you placed your order. They will in turn contact you to discuss your project, language and any challenges you may have.
- When your edited manuscript is ready, we will send you an email where you will find three documents: (1) a memo from the editor with both general feedback and specific notes and (2) the new and edited manuscript ready for download. (3) your original manuscript. Note that you must have Microsoft Word on your computer to participate in our editorial program.
